Brief
History The
Denomination - The Church of the Nazarene was
officially organized in 1908 and now has churches in 137 countries. From its beginning the church has
encouraged its people to reach out to those in need through compassionate
acts and ministries. The Church of
the Nazarene emphasizes a personal relationship with Christ. We believe it is important that our lives
reflect the teachings of Christ in our daily activities. |

The
Local Church - Nazarene work began in Sighisoara when the
Romania Studies Program sponsored by Eastern Nazarene College moved here in
1995. The students and their
professor started worship services which grew into our regular Sunday
services. They also began a Coffee
House ministry which continues to be an important part of the church. The local church was officially organized
in 1998. |

Tigmandru
Ministry For the past year, the Sighisoara Church has sponsored a ministry in the village of Tigmandru. It began with a small group meeting for prayer in a home and has grown to approximately 60 adults meeting weekly for a worship service. There is also a weekly program for children including a variety of activities. The two highlights of the year in children's ministry were a Vacation Bible School with over 100 children in attendance the last day and a Christmas program with about 80 children participating and a large group of parents and friends in attendance. |
